Frequently asked questions about wallpaper

space-filler

  • Which picture size should I save?
    1. The same size as your screen of course, if a picture of the same size as your screen is available.
    2. If it is not, then choose the next larger one and resize it (reduce it) with an image editor (e.g. The Gimp).
    3. You could also choose the next smaller one and enlarge it, but the quality would be inferior.

  • How to save the picture on the hard-disk of my computer?

  • How to reduce the size of an image?
To resize a picture you need a photo editor or an image editor. When you resize or resample a picture, you can choose the new width and the new height of the resized picture in pixels or in per cent, but pixels are more adequate in this case here.

To avoid distortion, most graphical software tools allow you to check a box named "preserve aspect ratio" or something similar. When you check this box, you choose only the new width and the corresponding height will be calculated automatically, or vice-versa.

At the digital photo software guide you will find a page dealing with photo resizing and jpeg resizing .

  • Where is the resize function in my image editor?
With most graphical software tools the resize function is under the menu
    Image
    ,  sub-menu
    Resize
    .

  • Is my web browser showing the wallpapers at one to one scale ?
Not always, since many web browsers are rescaling images behind your back and do not show the images at one to one scale as they should. They may do this for various reasons. We have a test image and more details at the page image scaling .

  • Can one visit this website with MSIE ?
Probably yes, but we can not guarantee it. Look, we do regularly test the website with many different web browsers, up to 8 browsers and the pages come up well with all of them. If some page do not show up well with MSIE, it would just prove once more that it is NOT a compliant browser, or like some people say, it is not a software with bugs, but it is a huge bug.

Unfortunately, we know that most of our visitors are using this bad browser, but we are not equiped to test our pages with it and we do not intend to equip ourself in the future. We would like to incite you to install at least a second browser, a compliant one, and maybe it will become your main browser one day. We do NOT want to impose you one specific browser, there is a large choice of compliant browsers.

E.g. Epiphany, Firefox, Galeon, Google Chrome, Kazehakase, Konqueror, Opera, Seamonkey

  • Can one visit this website with the Google Chrome web browser?
Yes, faunaflorawallpaper.com has been tested with the current Chrome development version 4.0.211.2 under Linux and all pages did render well. Even this development version is not yet a beta version, we do not expect that future beta versions and finally stable versions could have any problem with our web pages.
